Data processing
When you create a story from an image, the app compresses the photo and sends it to StoryLens Cloud and DeepSeek's multimodal service to understand the image and generate the requested story. Photos are not used for advertising or to train StoryLens' own models. When cloud voice features are used, voice samples, narration text, story text, a random device identifier, and usage data are sent to StoryLens Cloud and Alibaba Cloud's voice-processing service.
Waitlist requests
When you voluntarily join the waitlist, we store your email address, consent time, and submission time to send launch news, early-access credits, and updates directly related to your request. We do not sell waitlist emails or use them for targeted advertising. You may contact us to remove your waitlist record or stop receiving updates.
Accounts and security
When you register or sign in, we process your email address, optional name, account identifier, and sign-in provider. Passwords are stored only as salted password hashes, never in plain text. Apple and Google credentials are used to verify your identity.
Storage, sync, and security
Stories are stored on your device by default and separated by StoryLens account. When Pro users enable sync, titles and story text are stored in their private Apple ID CloudKit database. Login sessions and API keys are stored in Apple Keychain. The cloud service stores accounts, voices, usage allowances, and waitlist records. Diagnostic API logs are retained for up to 30 days, and usage counters for up to 13 months. To improve the product, we also retain anonymous product-interaction events for up to 13 months. These events contain no account, device, email, story text, image, voice, or search-query data.
Service providers
We use Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, Apple CloudKit, Vercel, Neon, Resend, DeepSeek, and Alibaba Cloud. These providers process data only to authenticate users, deliver requested features, secure the service, validate subscriptions, manage usage, or send requested account and waitlist messages.
Children's privacy
StoryLens is designed for parents and families to use together. We do not run targeted advertising, sell personal data, or track users across apps. A parent or guardian should supervise voice recording and waitlist registration.
Deletion and choices
You can delete individual stories or use Settings → About → Privacy & Data in the app to delete the account and associated local, iCloud, voice, usage, and cache data. Deleting data does not cancel an App Store subscription. Waitlist users can email us to remove their address or stop receiving updates.
